Thank you to everyone who participated in the Boosterthon Fun Run, from the students coordinating donations and running to their friends & family contributing and cheering them on at the event! It was a fun event and we are super proud of all involved.
We are happy to report that we’ve received a majority of the donations and have raised a little more than thirty thousand dollars! Thank you! This will all go toward enriching the school and student’s educational lives in many ways. One big way will be to start the process of updating Clare’s Garden and Cougar’s Courtyard.
You may have already noticed change is happening! The new Clare’s Garden and Cougar’s Courtyard have taken on slightly different looks over the last couple weeks. We have been working with one of our Cotswold dads, Sean Paone (SP Design, LLC), to create designs for both spaces.
The first stage of change is twofold – creation of an approved plan and a baseline preparation of gardens. Currently the plans are being reviewed. Trees and shrubs have been removed from the new Clare’s Garden. The art pieces from the Cougar Courtyard (formerly known as Clare’s Garden) have been removed and are being rehabilitated by the original artists.
The second stage will involve assessing and addressing the drainage concerns in the Cougar Courtyard. This will occur soon after school releases in June.
The third stage will include removing additional foliage in the two gardens, grading and prepping spaces for new hardy foliage and installing the art pieces, walkways and play areas. A majority of this should occur over the summertime break as to not interrupt school time activities.
And finally, the fourth stage will occur after school begins, into fall. Greenery including trees, shrubs and perennials (most of which will be hardy and drought-tolerant) will be planted.
(This timeline will hopefully be maintained but may be altered in the future depending on finances available and needs of the school.)
Thank you to our large Cougar Family for your participation and donations! Thank you, Sean Paone, for helping create a vision for the gardens and for your role in bringing them to life!
