The first grade teaching staff hosted a day of “Pasta Punctuation.” Students wrote sentences about Valentine’s Day and punctuated them with pasta. They used penne, rigatoni, wagon wheels, and elbow macaroni to shape the proper punctuation. The children arrived to their classrooms to find checkered tablecloths, Italian music, and in some cases, candlelight. Teachers wore aprons, chef hats, and mustaches to complete the ambiance.
What a great way to learn about punctuation! Many thanks to Ms. Hair, Ms. Lewis, Ms. English, Ms. Lock, Ms. Gilbert, Ms. King and Ms. Murrell!
