During the school year, all students are taught lessons related to IB Attitudes. In December, Ms. Moras’ fourth-grade class had lessons related to being a caring person and expressing empathy. Two of her students put their lessons into action.
Right before winter break, a first-grader in Mrs. King’s class was very upset while waiting to be picked up in the carpool line. She was upset because she lost her coat and was worried she was going to get in trouble.
Two girls from Ms. Moras’ class helped her look for her coat. When they couldn’t find it, they comforted her. The next day they made her a really sweet card telling her to be happy and to have a Merry Christmas. These young students showed empathy and were very caring. It’s clear they heard the message and acted on it. Way to go, Cougars!
