On Friday, October 17th Cotswold School came together to celebrate the summer reading achievements of our students. Reading Rocks is our school’s summer reading program, created to build a strong community of students who love to read. Humphrey, the Reading Rocks bookworm mascot, and the cow mascot from Chick-fil-a, one of Reading Rocks’ sponsors, kicked off Awards Day with a flashback to sitting by the
pool/beach in the heat of the summer.
Students, you have LOTS to be proud of! This summer there were 378 Cotswold students who participated in the Reading Rocks Read-a-thon. That is 68 more participants than last year and nearly half (45%) of our school that read and tracked their hours over the summer – WooHoo! And wow, these students read for a total of 15,441 hours. What a great accomplishment. You all really rock!!
Congratulations to the following award winners:
The Top 2 Readers in the School were sisters Molly Click (4th grade) and Sarah Click (2nd grade).
The Top Readers in each Grade were Avery Sanders (K), Morgan McLaughlin (1st), Audrey Roberts (2nd), Will Hair (3rd), Gailyn Burnell (4th), and Alex Elzey (5th).
