Cotswold students and staff celebrated Read Across America Day on Friday, March 1st. Events of the day were planned to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss, while fostering enthusiasm for reading. This year’s theme,”Hats off to Reading,” inspired both fun and creativity.
Cotswold students and staff created hats, participated in a school-wide parade of hats, decorated classroom doors, experimented with a QR trivia scavenger hunt, and read their favorite Dr. Seuss books.
The day was made even more spectacular by a $1000 donation from Harris Teeter. Thanks to the generous donation, two classrooms were the recipients of iPad minis, a wonderful tool for reading and learning! Congratulations to Mrs. Powell’s kindergartners and Mrs. Frey’s fourth graders for winning the door decorating contest.
